OLMC Parramatta’s extensive co-curricular program has an activity for every Mercy Girl. Students are encouraged to join at least one of our co-curricular programs. A busy life beyond the classroom not only enriches the student experience by helping to build confidence and make new friends, it also facilitates a spirited culture of excellence which sets OLMC apart.
Co-curricular activities are held at the College at lunchtime while others are held after or before school, both onsite and offsite.
The following activities are on offer at the College and may vary from year to year depending on interest from students.
The College has a strong music tradition tracing back to its origins – the first recorded major prize awarded to an OLMC student was the Trinity College Colony Medal for Piano in 1894. OLMC has a reputation for excellence in both ensemble and individual performance.
The College boasts a dedicated Music Centre, the Christina Creede Music Centre which features purpose-built practice rooms (for group work activities and instrumental tuition), medium and large ensemble spaces, a digital Audio Transfer system and internal lift access directly into the College’s main performance space, the Edith Angel Hall.
Students can choose to receive private tuition from fully qualified professional musicians in a range of instruments including drums, electric bass, voice, violin, viola, french horn and piano.
